TINFF FILM ACADEMY (TFA)

We are pleased to announce the TINFF Film Academy (TFA) Summer workshops and mentorship programs. This hybrid program will be a mix of online (delivered via Zoom) and in-person workshops and will be taught by our experienced roster of industry instructors.

Covering screenwriting, acting, directing, camera, editing and sound, the two to four weeks summer programs brought to you by the TINFF Film Academy (TFA) are designed to lead the cohorts (students) from script to screen.

The four weeks filmmaking program will be delivered as follows:

Weeks One & Two: of the program are online learning classroom-based – introducing the fundamentals of acting, directing, screenwriting, editing, cinematography & camera and sound while also prepping students for their end-of-workshop hands-on short film project. Students will write, produce and direct their own short films while also working on other student productions in various crew capacities where applicable.

Week Three: students will produce, direct and shoot their films – five minutes in length under the supervision of a TFA instructor who will mentor and guide them throughout the production process.

Week Four: In the final week of the program, students edit their films, and submit them to the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF) on FilmFreeway (Bridging The Gap Program) category.

Program Benefits:

While all Films will be screened online, selected films will be screened publicly at the TINFF Festival in Toronto. TINFF reserves the right to determine which films will be screened publicly or at its festival.

All films will be reviewed by the academy jurors, and winners will be notified and considered for recognition at the festival awards ceremony.

All cohorts (students) participants will be issued a certificate of completion at the end of the program.

Attending TINFF Festival Awards & Gala:

Upon request by cohorts (students), a letter of invitation from the TINFF Film Academy and TINFF Festival will be issued to registered filmmakers interested in attending the TINFF Festival & Awards in Toronto, Canada.
